10 Ways That You Can Increase Gratitude

gratitudeNever underestimate the power of gratitude. The art of appreciation isn’t designed purely to appease others and show respect. Once created, gratitude lines the fabric of the universe and attracts abundance, love, compassion, wealth and success. Increasing the energy of thankfulness in your heart can really enhance your life.

1 – Morning Meditation

Upon waking, create a feeling of excitement about aspects of the day to come that will expand your awareness of gratitude – no matter what happened the day before or issues that you are concerned about. I want to let you know that once you greet the beauty of the morning, your heart will swell with appreciation. Alternatively, there might be an event that you are looking forward to attending, or simply the expectation that there is the potential for something wonderful to occur.

2 – Wonderment

Purposely develop a sense of wonderment. Become aware of the beauty that surrounds you. Maybe, you live in the countryside and can marvel at the exquisite appeal of nature. There again, you might reside in the city, and can admire creative architecture. Or you live in an estate and can dwell in the serenity and security of the place. Observe the subtle gestures made by people. A gentle smile, a nod of encouragement, and the act of kindness performed via small deeds that could easily have gone unnoticed can increase your appreciation of being alive.

3 – Journal

Open a gratitude journal and log experiences of joy that you encounter. The act of recording such events can inspire and uplift you. Furthermore, if you feel your sense of appreciation slipping, you can look at the journal and remember how lucky you are. It takes commitment but you can do it.

4 – Present Moment Awareness

At least once a day, tell yourself that there is no point worrying, since the past has gone and you cannot second-guess or control the future. There is only here and now, and in the present, there is no stress as worry cannot exist in the moment. Breathe deeply as you contemplate these facts and you should automatically gain an appreciation of the moment in which you exist. Practicing being fully present can empty your mind of stress and make room for added gratitude.

5 – Kindness

Not only do you increase other people’s gratitude when you are kind, but you also improve your own. Kindness breeds compassion as it gains momentum, and more wonderful acts of altruism and goodwill follow.

6 – Increase Your Joy

Joy can grow without the input of money or a great deal of time or energy. All you need to do is place yourself mindfully. For example, just listening to music sends energy charges through your system. Also, watching the sun dip could fill you with awe. Alternatively, strolling along the beach, barefoot, with sand between your toes as you listen to the gulls croon might make you feel fabulous. Just taking a few extra steps can potentially boost your joy and thankfulness. Most times we go around oblivious to nature around us.

7 – Show Your Gratitude

Welcome opportunities to thank people for their kindness and character traits that you appreciate. Being mindful about seeking out the positive aspects of people’s natures will develop your awareness of goodness. Simultaneously, you should attract people who multiply your abundance. Likewise, carry out actions that show your appreciation at every opportunity and more experiences to be appreciative will occur.

8 – Gratitude For Wealth

Instead of thinking that you need more wealth, or commiserating with friends about financial hardship, celebrate your prosperity and abundance. Air your gratitude verbally by expressing your satisfaction about having plenty of everything that you require in your life, and more should therefore follow.

9 – Focus On Well-Being

Focus on gratitude for your well-being and health each day. Forget about any ailment or disease that you have, and don’t mull over your depression or anxiety if these are part of your experience now. Instead, just for a short while, send energy to aspects of yourself for which you are appreciative.

10 – Bedtime Reflection

When your head hits the sack, contemplate features of the passing day about which you are thankful. Drift to sleep as you let gratitude replenish your emotional energy.

Once your heart fills with gratitude, the Law of Attraction can now respond by feeding you more experiences for which you can be thankful.
